This is how my epic Diablo III release night went:
8:01pm : Stock up on snacks & drinks at grocery store.
12:01am : Grab my copy of Diablo 3 from local Gamestop. Rush home and install.
1:01am : Finally installed. Now just two more hours until servers are up!
2:01am : Coooooome onnnnnnnnnn!!!!
3:01am : FINALLY! ......... The servers are busy at this time. Please try again late. (Error 37)
3:30am : 1000 Error 37's later. Servers are still busy.
4:01am : 2500 Error 27's later. Servers are STILL busy.
4:30am : Got through! Character creation - - - Reserving all my character's names ^.^
4:45am : Timed out / Disconnected. Hello, Error 37!
5:01am : I'm In! Thnx the Wizard is ready for action! Watch your back, Diablo!
10 hours later...
3:01pm : I'm a gaming zombie.
